PA GOP: Chairman Gleason Launches Campaign Touting Republican Leadership

Chairman Gleason publicizes Republican efforts to secure our families and make America safer

HARRISBURG - Yesterday, the Republican Party of Pennsylvania launched a televised advertising campaign spreading the message of the Republican Party’s ongoing efforts to provide security to families across our Commonwealth and the many ways we have made America a better place to live.

“As the Chairman of the Republican Party of Pennsylvania, I think we need to stand up and talk about the many benefits of Republican leadership,” Gleason said.  “The top priority of the Republican Party is the security of our families.  We are reaching out to Pennsylvanians, so they know more about our Party’s efforts to keep Americans safe, provide financial security, protect our children, and care for our seniors.

“The examples are endless. Republican leadership delivered the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act of 2006, which expanded the national sex offender registry and strengthened federal penalties for crimes against children. Republican leadership also brought us the Patriot Act that has helped law enforcement break up terror cells in several states and has shielded us from further terrorist attacks.

“Republicans were also successful in protecting Pennsylvania taxpayers’ wallets, as they successfully blocked seven of Gov. Ed Rendell tax increase proposals.  Republicans in Washington doubled the child tax credit and provided much needed marriage penalty tax relief.  As a result of these and other fiscally responsible changes, Republican leadership provided more than 4.7 million Pennsylvanians and more than 1 million businesses with tax relief.
“As we move into the important 2008 election cycle, we are proud to show Pennsylvanians all the ways the Republican Party is working for our families.”
